With a fixed rental budget, expatriates who don't mind dated houses with older bathrooms and kitchens, will get more space.

For example, Gentle Villas is around 5 years old, but rooms are smaller. May 2001 rents are around $5,000 - $7,000 owing to great location and proximity to the Novena subway.

Colonial bungalows with 50,000 sq. ft of land and snakes may rent for $8,000 but you have to do your own maintenance and install your own pools.
