The following report was written in 2004 and is retained for
historical reasons. Some condos have had been demolished.
Beverly Mai
demolished
Maisonette renovated. 15-min
walk to Orchard subway. New carpets in bedrooms,
wooden strips in the living room. New bathrooms.
Very big balcony. Considered too big.
Great Eastern Mansions
Napier Road, 3-min bus ride to Tanglin Mall and Orchard
Road.
Caucasian enclave. Near Botanic Gardens. Some units
have green tree views off the living room and the
kitchen. The balcony facing Holland Road has traffic roar but
apartment is quiet if the balcony door is closed.
Despite the road fronting in 2 blocks, almost all units
are let.
Big sundeck, resort ambience, bay windows in spacious
master bedroom and other bedrooms are of good size.
Mutiara View

Highest is 11 floors.
Completed in 2000.
One block.
Off River Valley Road.
White kitchen counter top with white kitchen cabinets.
White Siemen oven and hob. Grey cooker hood, City gas.
Audio visual intercom.
White Jacuzzi long bath tub unique to this condo. Shaver
point. Grey green tiles for bathroom walls.
Zanussi washer and dryer. Covered basement car park. Low
density.

3-min walk down the hill to River Valley Road.

Small
development. 3-bedroom.

roof top open terrace. Spa pool at roof top. Regular
shaped rooms. City and greenery views. Private lift.
Pool, private lift lobby with powder room, security guard.
No balcony. Low density.
Welkin Mansion

River Valley Close, near Mohd Sultan Road and pubs.
Renovated. No condo facilities but spacious. Split level
marble flooring. Open concept dining and kitchen. 7-min
walk to Somerset subway.
Whitehouse Park

Whitehouse Park Apartments. 67/69 Stevens Road.
Over 10 years old but some units are renovated. Pool
with unblocked sun-bathing deck and squash court.
Basement car parking. Full of Caucasian expats.

4-bedroom penthouse 278 sq. m. 1 or 2 big balconies.
Buses and taxis from Stevens Road to Orchard Road in 5
minutes.
Older apartments with big balconies and open sundeck are
in great demand by Caucasians. It must have at least
a pool, e.g. the Whitehouse Park Apartments.
The Whitehouse Park Apartments are only 19 in number and
this low density always attract many Caucasians.
The Bayron
3-bedroom 1300 sq. ft $6000 fully furnished.
3-bedroom 1500 sq. ft $6,800 fully furnished.
2-min walk to Somerset subway and centre of action.
Open concept kitchen.
The bigger 3-bedroom unit has a very spacious living and
dining area.
No separate shower stall in master bathroom but there is a
sliding door at the edge of the long bath.
Pool and gym, but no tennis court.
Very high occupancy rate, almost 90%.
